FHLBank San Francisco Welcomes Seven New Members

During the second half of 2022, we welcomed seven new member financial institutions to FHLBank San Francisco:

Cerity Insurance Company, Reno, Nevada: With its digital-first approach, Certify empowers business owners to quickly and easily protect their team, their assets, and their livelihood through an online workers’ compensation solution. Cerity Services, Inc. is a subsidiary of Employers Holdings Inc., an insurance industry veteran, with over 100 years of experience in workers’ compensation.

CSAA Fire & Casualty Insurance Co., Walnut Creek, California: Established in 1997, CSAA Fire & Casualty Insurance offers marine, fire, casualty, rental property, and motorcycle insurance products to its clients. The insurance company operates as a subsidiary CSAA Insurance Exchange.

CSAA General Insurance Company, Walnut Creek, California: CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, offers automobile, homeowner, and other personal lines of insurance to AAA Members through AAA clubs in 23 states and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1914, the company has been rated “A” or better by AM Best for more than 90 years and is one of the top personal lines property casualty insurance groups in the U.S., according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. CSAA General Insurance Company has more than 3,500 employees, with offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Jersey, and Oklahoma.

Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club, Costa Mesa, California: Founded in 1912, Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club provides property and automobile insurance products and services. The company operates as a subsidiary of Auto Club Enterprises Insurance Group.

Savings Bank of Mendocino County, Ukiah, California: With nine locations serving Lake and Mendocino counties, Savings Bank of Mendocino County is a majority-locally owned independent bank providing consumer and banking products and services. Savings Bank first opened its doors in Ukiah for banking business in 1903 and stands as the only chartered bank with its headquarters in Mendocino County.

Scottsdale Community Bank, Scottsdale, Arizona: Established by local entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders, Scottsdale Community Bank opened as a de novo bank in 2022. Locally owned, Scottsdale Community Bank specializes in providing personalized consumer and business banking products and services and centers its work on expanding economic opportunity for individuals and businesses by supporting affordable housing and economic development through community lending, investment, and corporate giving activities serving the Scottsdale community.

SMW 104 Federal Credit Union, Livermore, California: Established in 1962, SMW 104 Federal Credit Union is a nonprofit, financial cooperative owned and operated by its members (Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union 104 employees, apprentices, and their families), with a footprint that spans 49 counties from Ventura County, California, to the Oregon border. By understanding the nature of the sheet metal trade and offering products and services that meet their unique needs, SMW 104 Federal Credit Union helps its members create financial stability as well as strong financial futures for themselves.

  • Federally insured commercial banks, savings institutions, and industrial loan companies
  • Credit unions that are Federally insured, privately insured and state-chartered, or certified by the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (CDFI Fund)
  • Community development financial institutions certified by the CDFI Fund
  • Insurance companies (captive insurance companies excluded)
