The grand re-opening of the historic Lorenz Hotel, now Lorenz Senior Apartments, was an especially joyful affair, bringing city and state officials, lenders and funders, staff, and residents together to celebrate the successful and high-quality renovation of 60 affordable studio and one-bedroom apartments for low-income seniors.
The Bank's Board of Directors appointed Stephen L. Hastings, Martin Quintana, Douglas Shoemaker, and Tunua Thrash-Ntuk to vacant seats on the Advisory Council. John Carlisi and Cloyd Phillips were reappointed to new terms.
Applications for AHEAD grants, which provide early-stage funding for targeted economic and community development projects, will be available in May. Interested nonprofits should contact a Bank member early to partner on an application. Vera Haile Senior Housing Grand Opening & Dedication

Mercy Housing will celebrate the grand opening of a 90-unit affordable housing complex, developed in partnership with the St. Anthony Foundation, in San Francisco on March 18. The project received a $900,000 AHP grant through member Silicon Valley Bank.
The Bank is a sponsor of this annual event, which supports the organization’s commercial lending, business training, and asset-development programs. Forescee Hogan-Rowles, President & CEO of RISE Financial Pathways, served three terms on the Bank’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council.
Beyond Perceptions is the theme of this year’s celebration, which will take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. A Community of Friends (ACOF) Executive Director Dora Gallo joined the Bank’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council in 2014.
