Delivering Life-Changing Results

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Scholars is a free, eight-year academic program that gets low-income public high school students to, and through, college. After decades of success in New York City, including a 95% graduation rate, the program came to San Francisco in 2011 and graduated its first class of scholars in 2015, with help from an AHEAD grant sponsored by member Wells Fargo Financial National Bank.


2015 AHEAD Awards

The Bank awarded $1 million in grants to innovative projects and programs that foster economic development and promote community stability and self-sufficiency in Arizona, California, and Nevada.

Community Support Review

A list of Bank members currently selected for Community Support Review by the Federal Housing Finance Agency is available on the Bank’s website. The FHFA encourages community groups and other interested parties to submit public comments on the community support activities of the institutions under review in this cycle. Comments are due by December 31, 2015.


Grand Opening of 1585 Studios

October 29, 2015

First Community Housing will celebrate the grand opening of 1585 Studios, an affordable rental project that will provide 27 studio units to low-income developmentally disabled adults in Santa Clara County. Housing Choices Coalition, a nonprofit organization that works with developmentally disabled populations, will provide supportive services on-site. The project received a $260,000 AHP grant through member Silicon Valley Bank.

LTSC 35th Anniversary Celebration

November 4, 2015

The Bank is a sponsor of Little Tokyo Service Center’s 35th Anniversary Celebration, which will celebrate the organization’s past accomplishments and introduce new initiatives. LTSC Executive Director Dean Matsubayashi currently serves as vice chair of the Bank's Affordable Housing Advisory Council.

CAL-ALHFA Annual Meeting

November 12, 2015

The Bank is a sponsor of the California Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies’ annual meeting in Sacramento. This year’s theme is A Re-Examination of Critical Affordable Housing Policies. Anita Adams, VP, Director of Affordable Housing at the Bank, will moderate a panel discussion on rent control at the event.
