Title: Derivatives Documentation Specialist

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience.

Purpose
Support the Controller’s Derivatives Operations area by providing accurate and timely processing, reporting, and servicing of the Bank’s derivatives portfolio within the Documentation Group. Responsible for the maintenance of master agreements and derivatives confirmation documentation to support the Bank’s interest rate derivatives transactions.

Major Accountabilities
  • Supports execution of derivative legal contracts in compliance with ISDA standards and the Bank’s Risk Management and Financial Management Policies.
  • Maintains a record of all derivative transactions and documentation.
  • Tracks documents to ensure completeness of the process, which includes reviews, execution, and record retention management.
  • Reviews derivatives confirmations and negotiates changes with the derivative counterparty as required.
  • Promptly determines discrepancies needing escalation and brings such matters to the attention of management or other Bank departments.
  • Monitors progress and performs reconciliation and status reviews of open and outstanding confirmations.
  • Ensures that legal documentation, including swap confirmations, Master Agreements, Security Agreements, Certificates of Incumbency, and Tax Declaration forms, are maintained in accordance with the Bank’s retention policy and vital records policy.
  • Services calls from derivative counterparties.
    • Prepares and update reports for the department, including status reports to management and other Bank departments.
  • Maintains department policies and desk procedures.
  • Provides back up support for department functions and performs other related duties as needed.

Skills/Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education.
  • Two to four years of experience working in treasury or investment operations.
  • Knowledge of over-the-counter interest rate derivative products preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate spreadsheet and database skills..
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills required to manage daily assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
